Kwara United to play Greater Tomorrow in pre-season friendly
Kwara United Football Club of Ilorin will on Saturday begin its friendly matches’ phase of its pre-2014/2015 season preparations with a friendly match against Greater Tomorrow FC of Akure.
Acting Head Coach of the team, Isiaka Gambari, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Thursday in Ilorin that the team was focused on doing better than before.
``We want to do well in the new season, better than before and not just to make up the numbers in the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL), when the season begins,’’ he said.
Gambari said however that the team’s technical crew was focused on taking only players who are fit and ready for the task ahead to Akure for the friendly on Saturday.
``We have some of our players back with us now, so we are gradually setting the pace ahead of the season.
``There is no time to waste as we hope to select only players that can do what we want from them,” he said.
Gambari said the team would return to Ilorin on Sunday to continue with its preparations before playing another friendly later with a club from Lagos.
