Kwara State Resolves To Harness Youths Potentials
The Kwara State Commissioner for Youths Development, North Central Nigeria, Nafisat Buge has reiterated the State government's commitment to empowering and harnessing the potentials of youths.
She said this while receiving the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Citizenship and Leadership, Miss Rinsola Abiola in her office in Ilorin the State capital.
The Commissioner noted that youths are at the centre of decision making instrumental to the development strides recorded in the State.
She said; “Youths are dominating every sector in Kwara state, and the state Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has given us the enabling environment to foster and develop other youths to be decision makers.”
The Commissioner highlighted some of the evolving milestones of the government to include the construction of the Ilorin Visual Arts Centre, Garment Factory, International Conference Centre, amongst others.
The Special Assistant to the Kwara State Governor on Drug Abuse Prevention and Control, Mukail Olamilekan noted that the stakeholders summit on drug abuse, prevention and control, was the first to be organised in the entire country and due to Governor's commitment to the eradication of drug abuse among youths.
In her response, the Senior Special Assistant to the President, Rinsola Abiola commended the Governor for youths inclusion in governance and policy making, which will be documented in the history of Kwara State.
She noted that Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq is committed to empowering young people, making sure their decisions matter and their voices heard.
The Permanent Secretary Ministry of Communications, Alhaji Yahaya Mohammed and the State Director of Information Services, Abdulganiyu Atere, received the entourage and emphasized that the Visual Arts Centre would help to boost the economy of the state as well as attract investors from all sectors of the world.
Mohammed further disclosed that the Visual Arts Centre has been renamed Institute of Contemporary Arts and Films.
