Four Kidnapped Along Omu-Aran-Isanlu-Isin Road Regain Freedom
The four individuals abducted on 5 January 2026 along the Omu-Aran-Isanlu-Isin Road in Kwara State have been freed.
It was learnt that the victims regained their freedom on Wednesday.
Confirming the development, a security source stated, "The released individuals are receiving treatment in various hospitals in Ilorin and Omu-Aran respectively."
Meanwhile, in a separate incident, one person was reportedly killed and another abducted on Tuesday evening along the Correctional Centre Road.
"Residents of Isanlu-Isin and neighbouring communities are in a panicking mood, as a result of which some schools have closed down," the source added.
In a related development, security operatives arrested a suspected bandit who allegedly disguised himself as a beggar in Igbaja, located in Ifelodun Local Government Area of the state.
"The suspect was caught disguising himself as a beggar in Igbaja," the security source disclosed.
According to the source, intelligence reports revealed that some bandits fled Baba Sango after discovering that their informants, who had been posing as beggars while moving around towns and villages across Kwara South, were being monitored.
It was also revealed that bandits believed to be hiding in Baba Sango and Oro-Ago had begun spreading to other areas within the senatorial district, adopting disguises to evade detection.
