A Nigerian Police Intelligence School is to be established in Ilorin the Kwara State Capital. Towards this end, arrangements have been put in place to ensure its take-off within the next three months when President Goodluck Jonathan will officially perform its commissioning.

The Acting Inspector General of Police, Alhaji Mohammed Dikko Abubakar disclosed this when he paid a courtesy visit to Governor AbdulFatah Ahmed at the Government House, Ilorin. Alhaji Abubakar said the Police School when fully operational would operate according to International standard in collaboration with other security outfits all over the world.

Responding, Governor AbdulFatah Ahmed praised the Inspector General of Police for coming to the rescue of the State during the 2003 elections when he was the Commissioner of Police in the State. Governor Ahmed said with his appointment as Acting Inspector General of Police, the country now had someone who had the ability and capacity to redress the current insecurity in the country. He expressed confidence that the Inspector General of Police would carry out his responsibility of ensuring proper policing of the country and bring back its host glory. Governor Ahmed assured the Police Boss of his government support to the Police Intelligence School in terms of logistics support and other form of assistance to ensure the smooth take-off of the School.
