Kwara State Screens 3,000 Pilgrims for 2013 Hajj
In preparations for this year’s pilgrimage to Saudi Arabia, the Kwara Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board North Central Nigeria has screened over 3000 intending Pilgrims from the state for the exercise.
The Executive Secretary of the Board, Hajia Fatima Jimoh said the screening exercise which was attended by intending Pilgrims from all the sixteen Local Government area of the state lasted for ten days.
The Executive Secretary who disclosed this to newsmen said not all the screened intending Pilgrims would have the opportunity to perform the Hajj through the Board and development she attributed this to inadequate number of seats allocated to the state by the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria.
The Executive Secretary warned intending Pilgrims against paying their
Hajj fare to any agent, stating that the Board did not appoint any
agent to collect Hajj fare for it.
Muharam
On the issue of Muharam, joining male Pilgrim with females Pilgrims, which prevented several Female Pilgrims from performing the Holy journey last year, Hajia Jimoh said the Board has taken care of the issue in this year’s Hajj and assured that no Pilgrim from the state will be returned by the Saudi Arabia Authority over Muharam issue.
