Never get involved in exam malpractice, Azeez warns students
The Dean of the Faculty of Communication and Information Sciences (CIS), Prof. Lukman A. Azeez, has warned students not to get themselves involved in examination malpractice, noting that the University has zero tolerance for such.
Prof. Azeez gave the warning while speaking at an interactive session on examinations, organised by the Faculty for its students.
The Dean urged students to take their examinations very seriously, stressing that “over the years, the Faculty of Communication and Information Sciences has not been experiencing examination malpractice because it is not in our character”.
Prof. Azeez added that since the establishment of the Faculty, it is known to be one of the best Faculties in the University because ''we have integrity and we are able to be honoured''.
The don, however, lamented that since last year, the Faculty has begun to witness series of examination malpractices due to the large number of students, pointing out that “this is why the Faculty came up with this interactive programme to enlighten students on negative implications of examination malpractice”.
The first Professor of Mass Communication at the University noted that the programme is a form of mobilization, persuasion and eyes opener on any form of examination misconduct.
Prof. Azeez, therefore, called on the students to write their university examinations “with all honours you deserve, do your examination with all integrity you deserve and pass your examination in the university, never involve in impersonation and stick to rules and regulations governing the conduct of university examinations; because once you are caught, you are gone”.
