NPFL striker Fortune Omoniwari joins Kwara United to rediscover form

The attacker has reiterated his mission to the Harmony Boys after he completed his move for the rest of the season to the side recently

Kwara United newly signed striker, Fortune Omoniwari has disclosed that he joined the Harmony Boys majorly to rediscover himself.

Omoniwari is not a greenhorn on the domestic scene having played for several top clubs in the country; including the defunct Port Harcourt-based outfit, Sharks.

The veteran goal poacher has also enjoyed stints with Heartland, Akwa United and Plateau United where he distinguished himself until the beginning of last season.

The striker, however, left Plateau United during the midseason transfer last season for a return to Heartland but the reunion with the Naze Millionaires was severed at the start of the 2019 season before Kwara United came calling.

With a fresh chance now before him until the end of the season, Omoniwari says he is ready to prove his worth at his new club.

"I have joined Kwara United and I will be with them until the end of the season, " the striker told Goal.

"It is my resolve to help Kwara United finish the season strongly. I did a lot of negotiation before agreeing to join Kwara United. There were several clubs that showed interest in me, but I decided to give Kwara United a chance because of the way Coach Abubakar Bala spoke to me.

"He told me that I would be part of his programme and that he will be patient with me. This has given me rest of mind and I hope to hit the ground running with the club. I am happy to be with them."

Coach Bala's side are currently in the fifth spot in the elite division Group A with 12 points from nine games and would hope for improvement following the addition of Omoniwari to their roster.
