Kwara to sack 'irregular' council staff

Date: 2012-07-24

Local government staff in Kwara State that get their employment through irregular means will be flushed out, Daily Trust gathered.

Speaking on the development, chairman of the state Local Government Service Commission Alhaji Suleiman Kayode confirmed that those to be affected are those who got their appointment through irregular means.

"The affected persons were those who secured appointment from inappropriate quarters and could not present their letters of appointment and other documents.

"It is not government's plan to retrench anyone .What government did with biometric exercise conducted in the 16 local government areas was to address issues of ghost workers and others. I am saying categorically that there is nothing like retrenchment," he said.
