While presenting cheque to the awadee, the State Commissioner for Tertiary Education Science and Technology, Alhaji Abdukwahab Aliyu Opakunle disclosed that the gesture was the deliberate effort of Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed administrations to encourage excellent students in the state who distinguish themselves, in their chosen academic career, adding that the government is fully keen in the advancement of education sector in the state.

He also commended the state university for keeping the dream and intention of the founding fathers of the institution alive stressing that the gesture would go a long way toward achieving the academic aspiration of the awardee to become a physician scientist.

In his remark, the VC of the university, Professor AbdulRasheed Na’Allah gave kudos to the former governor of the state, Senator Bukola Saraki for the vision and Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed for sustaining the vision saying that the gesture would serve as a boost to other students in the state to work harder in their academic career.

Also in his remark, the Chairman of the state Scholarship Board, Hon Isideji Magaji enumerated the achievements of state government in education sector especially in the award of scholarship to the indigents students in all the higher institutions in the country.

Responding, the beneficiary, Ameen Mohammed Tukur expressed his appreciation to the Kwara State Government, the management of KWASU and his presents who have contributed in no small measure to the success of his programme.
