The Ilorin Emirate Descendants Progressive Union (IEDPU) has joined the list of respected individuals and organizations congratulating the Executive Governor of Kwara State, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, on the occasion of the second anniversary of his administration.

The Union, in a statement by its National President, Alhaji Aliyu Otta Uthman, fsi,,which was signed by its Spokesman,Abubakar Imam, commended what it called "the glorious achievements of the Kwara State Government in the last two years despite the challenge of dwindling resources".

The IEDPU President, while describing Mallam AbdulRazaq as a distinguished, patriotic and worthy son of Ilorin Emirate, who has left no one in doubt of his membership of the Union, said that the performance of the Governor in the realm of education, health and agriculture, road construction and rehabilitation, was quite encouraging and stimulating.

Alhaji Uthman specifically commended Governor AbdulRazaq for the comprehensive renovation of the Ilorin Grammar School,Ilorin, and the Government High School, Ilorin,as well as its resolve to spend more resources towards the provision of more infrastructural facilities in primary schools across the State, which would make public schools better positioned towards the continuous discharge of responsibilities of raising quality citizenry.

The IEDPU President further noted that the recent approval of the commencement of academic programme at the Police Secondary School, Ballah, was facilitated by the interventions of Governor AbdulRazaq whose administration's investment in the school's infrastructural facilities eventuated in its applauded takeoff.

The retired intelligence technocrat also thanked the Governor for employing more teachers into primary and secondary school systems, adding that the government should endeavour to create more enabling environment for small-scale industries and agricultural-resourced businesses to thrive, which,he said, would engage more hands from the pool of willing but unemployed school leavers.

The IEDPU also commended the Governor for the brilliance, humility, patriotism and maturity he deployed in running the affairs of the State as exemplified in the pacific resolution of the altercations generated by the resistance to the use of hijab by pupils in public schools.

Alhaji Uthman said that the Union has enjoyed the listening hears of the Governor on issues affecting the people of Ilorin Emirate and asked for more collaborations for the love of the good people of Ilorin Emirate.

He added that the multifarious support being rendered by Mallam AbdulRazaq has also been the most singular factor which is stimulating the desire of the Union to go ahead with the construction of a state-of-the-art Skills Acquisition Hub in Ilorin.

The Union, however, implored the government to be more proactive in the efforts at putting machinery in place towards securing lives and properties of the people and residents of the State, most especially Ilorin Emirate, which has become more attractive to people of various backgrounds, for the State to maintain its alluring reputation as the "State of Harmony"

Alhaji Uthman assured the Governor of the support of the Union as he prayed Allah to grant Mallam AbdulRazaq a more peaceful, rewarding and successful tenure of office.
