Offa Poly Protest claimed no life - Police

The Kwara State Police Command has said the protest clash embarked upon by the students of the Federal Polytechnic, Offa with police did not claim any life as speculated in some quarters.

The command Public Relations Officer, Mr Samuel Okasanmi, stated this on Friday in llorin while speaking with the newsmen.

He said although a protest erupted when a lorry running away for police arrest knocked down two students of the institution on motorbike.

Okansanmi described as unfounded rumour that the two affected students died instantly.

The Police image maker said there was no casualty recorded during the protest, stating that the two affected students sustained minor injuries and currently receiving treatment in an hospital in Offa.

He said normalcy had since return to Offa as social and economic activities are in top gear.
