Date: 2013-07-01

Privately owned club, ABS FC have beefed up their squad with the signing of eight new players ahead of the second stanza of the Glo Premier League on Wednesday.

The Ilorin club have signed one goalkeeper, two defenders, three midfielders and two strikers. The players include Seun Sogbesan and Effiom Otu Bassey who are making a return to club having left in the off-season, Ila FC goalkeeper Bode Abdullahi, Bridge FC midfielder Ayo Abdullahi and Wikki Tourists striker Mukthar Saliu. Striker Stephen Abandy, defender Amos Adamu and former Ocean Boys midfielder David Onuado make up the list of new signings for the League strugglers side.ABS General Manager, Alloy Chukwuemeka disclosed that the club may release some of their players to make room for the new acquisitions.

"We can only register 25 players at a time which means that we have to replace the newly bought ones from those that have been deemed surplus to requirements in the team.

"Although we do not want to send them away at least till the end of the Federation Cup. We have given them options to either remain with us for the rest of our campaign in the Cup games or to get another club if they so desire," said the ABS manager.

ABS are placed 17th on the log having 22points from 19 matches.
