Dr. Usman Ajidagba has promi-sed to conduct credible local government elections that would be acceptable to all in the state.

Ajidagba gave the assurance at the floor of the state House of Assembly during a screening exercise where he was eventually confirmed as the chairman of the commission.

The State Governor Abdulfatai Ahmed had presented the candidate to the lawmakers for screening and confirmation after four member-nominees had been screened and confirmed last month.

Ajidagba, a Senior Lecture at the Kwara state University said by his pedigree as an academic, he would not do anything that would undermine his credibility or dent his image, saying he is an apolitical candidate.

He said, "If I finally become the chairman of KWSIEC, I promise to be proactive in dealing with all problems of election activities. With the help of God, I and my co-workers will first of all find out the cause of any problem, ascertain the way out and provide solution to it."
