Group faults abduction claim at tribunal
A non-governmental organization is Kwara State, Kwara Observer has faulted the claim of Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and a socio-cultural organization Afenifere that there was an abduction of witnesses at the Kwara State Election Petition.
The group which said it has constantly monitor proceedings of the tribunal disclosed that allegation made by the labour and Afenifere is misleading.
In a release signed by Kwara observers coordinator, Mallam Kayode Aliu Adebayo, "there was no invasion of the election petition Tribunal either by the state government agents or people, democratic party members".
The group which said it believes in the rule of law, justice and fair play noted that it has been keeping the state government on its toes over the years and have not found it abuse the rights of her citizens.
"Our members have taken ken interest in what is happening at the tribunal because we believe in justice, fear hearing and the rule of law.
"To put the record straight the allegation made by NLC and Afenifere sounds like tales by moonlight because the two bodies suggested an attempts to subvert the course of justice."
The group said studies have shown that the present administration is the state believes in rule of law and has been promoting peace and unity in the state adding that inter-party relations in Kwara has also been encouraging.
Kwara observer which commended the state police command for clearing the air over the allegation implore organizations in the country to get their facts right before rushing to the press.
