The Kwara State Governor, Alhaji Abdulfatah Ahmed has approved the composition of a new board for the Kwara State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB).

According to a statement issued by the Secretary to the State Government, Alhaji Sola Isiaka Gold, the new members of the SUBEB board are: Alhaji Ladi Hassan-Chairman; Mustapha Ajibola; Shuaib Baba Jimoh and Wahab Bolakale as members Alhaji Gold congratulated the members of the new board and charged them to spearhead the government's new drive towards sanitizing the agency in line with the objectives for which it was established and the Ahmed administration's strong commitment to reforming basic education in the state.

Reacting to the development in a telephone interview with The Herald yesterday, the new Chairman, Alhaji Hassan described his appointment as "call to service, to serve the government and the people of the state, it is purely personal sacrifice".

He said the mission of Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed's administration would be carried out in terms of sanitizing the agency and improving on its operation.

Alhaji Hassan who described the agency as the bedrock of education in the state said efforts would be geared forwards providing the right atmosphere and infrastructure for learning and teachers welfare. He said the agency deserved critical attention to lay a solid foundation for the education of our children.
