A renowned preacher, Sheik Sulaiman Dan Borno has appealed to politicians in Kwara state to cooperate with each other and work together for the growth and development of the state.

Sheik Dan Borno stated this in Ilorin, Kwara state on Wednesday during the fidau prayer for the repose of the soul of Alhaji Muhammadu Lawal Amosa Eleran.

The deceased was the father of a Chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and former Special Duties Commissioner in the state, Alhaji AbdulRazaq Lawal who died last Friday at the age of 92.

Dan Borno who was delighted with the presence of government officials and chieftains of the All Progressives Congress (APC) at the fidau despite the fact that the son of the deceased is a notable opposition figure.

He charged the opposition elements to give the APC government the necessary support to succeed and urged those in government to see members of the opposition parties as partners in progress.

The Islamic Cleric noted that it is through such cooperation between the government and the opposition that could engender growth and development of the state.

The Secretary to the state government,Alhaji Isiaka Gold, representatives of the Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji Ayuba Sarkin Salama, Alhaji Salihu Olarongbe, Sarkin Driver, the Grand Kadi, Sharia Court of Appeal, Justice Salihu Mohammed were among the dignitaries that attended the prayer session.

The fidau prayer was led by the Imam Gambari, Alh. Dele Imam and he prayed Allah to accept the deceased as His true servant and grant him eternal rest.
