NOA to sensitize Kwara pilgrims

Date: 2014-05-14

The State Director National Orientation Agency (NOA) Kwara State Directorate, Mr Felix Olowokere has reiterated the agency's commitment at ensuring that all intending pilgrims from Kwara State to the holy land are adequately and properly sensitized o ideal behaviours and conducts during the stay in the holy land. Mr Felix Olowokere stated this while paying an official courstesy visit to the executive secretary Kwara State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board, Ilorin.

He stated that the image of the nation should be well portrayed by the intending pilgrims by avoiding the peddling of illicit drugs, absconding from the holy land and other inimical behaviours that are detrimental to the interest of the nation.

The state director further stated that intending pilgrims should use the pilgrimage as an opportunity to pray for the continued peace and harmony of the state and indeed Nigeria at this time of insurgency and insecurity. He enjoined all pilgrims to be good ambassadors of the country.

In her response, the executive secretary of the board, Hajia Fatimat Jimoh commended the NOA on its sensitization and enlightenment programmes which are necessary for the desired character transformation of Nigeria.

She further appealed for re-orientation of intending pilgrims and first timers embarking on the journey to the holy land to shun all vices that could tarnish the image of the country. She assured the pilgrims of adequate preparation in this year's forth coming pilgrimage exercise to Saudi Arabia.
