University Don backs national confab
A University Don, Dr. Ebigbaha Sylvester says the proposed national confab will address some of the challenges facing Nigeria if purposefully implemented.
Dr. Ebigbaha says the challenges will be confronted when there is justice, equity, fairness and unity of purpose.
He is a lecturer at the Niger-Delta University, Wilberforce Island, Bayelsa State.
"I want to urge the government and other stakeholders handling the confab not to politicize the process, but to ensure that the process establishes genuine justice and fairness in the nation,'' Dr. Ebigbaha stated.
He says it is important to strengthen Nigeria's culture as it encompasses all the peculiarities that the country needs to grow.
Dr. Ebigbaha urged the government to be more sensitive to the plight of workers, to prevent industrial actions and forestall total economic downturn.
He described the upcoming centenary exhibition of the Kwara Chapter of the Society of Nigerian Artists as an avenue to showcase the nation's culture to the world.
He advised Nigerians to instil positive values in children.
