Group gives less-privileged N2m in Kwara

Date: 2015-02-17

Ahead of the forthcoming general elections, a political group under the aegis of Kwara Solidarity Movement, KSM, has empowered the less privileged in the state with equipments worth N2 million. The group noted that the gesture was part of its little way of supporting the Sen. Simeon Sule Ajibola and Mallam Yinka Aluko gubernatorial ticket on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.

Nigerian Pilot gathered that items distributed by the group at the weekend ‎include sewing machines, kerosene, liquid soap, rice and other food stuffs as well as cash presentation.

Addressing mammoth crowd along Unity Road, the chairman, vice chairman and women leader of the group, Mr Saheed Mohammed, Mr Oladimeji Bukola and Mrs Bola Adeyemi-Ajayi urged the beneficiaries to utilise the materials to salvage themselves from economic bondage and poverty.

They, however, appealed to the electorate to vote massively for the PDP at all levels in the ‎forthcoming general elections, stressing that the APC-led government in the state had failed the people.

The group also raised the alarm over attack of its members by some suspected members of the APC, calling on security agencies to beef up surveillance before, during and after the polls.
