KWHA passes Trust Fund Bill into law

The Kwara State House of Assembly has passed I the state Security Trust Fund Bill, 2011 into law.

The bill which went through third reading and final passage on the floor yesterday, seeks to provide trust fund to assist security agencies in the state.

The state governor, Alhaji Abdulfatah Ahmed, had last year sent the bill to the House

The Speaker, Barrister Rasaq Atunwa directed the clerk to prepare the neat copy and present it to the governor for assent.

Meanwhile, the state governor, Alhaji Abdulfatah Ahmed has presented the state Asset Management Agency Bill, 2012 and Community Health Insurance Scheme Bill, 2012 before the House.

The first bill seeks for a law to establish a governmental agency which will have the overall responsibility of overseeing acquisition, management and disposal of government assets, while the later seeks for the legal backing for the Community Health Insurance Scheme.

The Speaker, Barrister Rasak Atunwa who read the governor's letter, assured that the bills would be given accelerated consideration and passage.
