All Progressive Congress chieftain Mohammed Dele Belgore (SAN) has condoled with the family and associates of the late Pa Ibrahim Ademola Fashola, father of the Lagos State Governor Babatunde Fashola.

"I receive with shock the news of the death on Monday of Alhaji Ibrahim Ademola Fashola, father of the Governor of Lagos State, Mr Babatunde Fashola (SAN), at the ripe age of 80," Belgore said in a statement on Tuesday.

"I pray the Almighty to forgive his shortcomings, admit him into (al-Jannah) paradise and continue to bless his illustrious family."

Belgore said the deceased left a glowing legacy of raising a great family as seen in the personality of the Lagos governor.

The statement added: "My special condolence goes to the relatives of Papa Fashola especially the learned silk and my friend, Governor Babatunde Raji Fashola (SAN), whose distinguished performance and excellent characters as Governor of Lagos State have made him a great ambassador of his family. That Papa Fashola raised such a hugely successful family is enough yardstick to measure his ideals as a human being.

"Whilst our traditions as Africans and our faiths call for sober reflection at the passing of our loved ones, the fact that Pa Fashola left a great legacy as captured in the kind of family he left behind is enough solace for the family, friends and associates to celebrate a life well spent."
