Gov Abdulrazaq Commends President's Hands-on Approach as Eruku 38 Regain Freedom

Date: 2025-11-24

Kwara State Governor, HE AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq (CON), has announced the freedom of 38 persons who were recently abducted in an attack on the Christ Apostolic Church (CAC) in Eruku, Ekiti Local Government Area, Kwara State.

The Governor confirmed that the abductees were freed today, November 23rd, following "many days of hard work by security forces and government representatives."

Governor AbdulRazaq stated that the release was wholly due to the "hands-on approach" of President Bola Tinubu, GCFR, who personally led the efforts to free the abductees. The Governor expressed immense gratitude to the President for his direct initiative that made this happen.

The statement noted that the President had called off his scheduled trip for the G20 Meeting in South Africa to attend to the security breaches in Kwara and Kebbi States. He had also directed heightened security deployments to Kwara, which the Governor said underlined his firm commitment to the safety and wellbeing of the people and Nigerians as a whole.

The Governor also expressed appreciation to:

  • The Office of the National Security Adviser.
  • The Department of State Services (DSS).
  • The Nigerian Army.
  • The Nigeria Intelligence Agency.
  • The Nigeria Police, which has deployed four new tactical teams to Kwara State on the President's directive.

Finally, the Governor thanked members of the security forces across the board, thought leaders, religious institutions, and all Kwarans for their support and goodwill since the unfortunate incident.
