Kwara Deploys Cabinet Members to Resolve Salary and Pension Queries at LGA Headquarters
Kwara State Government has deployed cabinet members and technocrats to resolve isolated salary and pension payment delays affecting civil servants and pensioners through a statewide troubleshooting initiative.
The five day exercise, running from Thursday 31 July to Monday 4 August 2025 (excluding Sunday), will be held daily at all 16 local government headquarters. Serving staff and pensioners must attend in person with required documents:
- Bank Verification Number (BVN)
- National Identification Number (NIN)
- Kwara State Residents Registration Agency (KWSRRA) Number
- Payroll System Number (PSN)
- Bank account statement
- Employment letter
- Work/pension identity card
- Other relevant supporting documents
Finance Commissioner Dr Hauwa Nuru confirmed the sessions will be led by cabinet members representing each local government area alongside technical teams from relevant Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs). "This hands on approach ensures prompt resolution of individual cases," she stated, urging affected persons to participate actively.
The initiative aligns with the state's commitment to transparent payroll management, following the successful implementation of the State Social Identity Database (SSID) system that now covers 97% of registered workers.
Dr Nuru added that while majority of the civil servants and pensioners have no issues with their salary or pension, we acknowledge that there are isolated cases of individuals who still have pending complaints affecting seamless payment of their salary and pension. This session is to resolve all such pending issues once and for all, in line with the commitment of the Governor that every worker or pensioner deserves their pay at the right time.
