Hajj 2025 Airlift Dates Set: Pilgrims to Depart from May 9-24 Amid NAHCON's Final Preparations
The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) has convened a meeting with executive secretaries of state Muslim Pilgrims' Welfare Boards, finalising plans to begin the airlift of intending pilgrims to Saudi Arabia on 9 May 2025, with the last flight departing by 24 May 2025.
NAHCON Chairman Professor Abdullah Saleh Usman stated the commission is in the final stages of preparations for the 2025 Hajj season. He urged state welfare boards to provide updates on their readiness, including visa processing, vaccination programmes, luggage procurement, and other logistical arrangements.
During the meeting, NAHCON commissioner in charge of operations, Prince Anofiu Elegushi, said air peace has been assigned 5,128 pilgrims cumulative from Abia, Akwa Ibom, Anambra, , Bayelsa, Benue, Borno, Cross River, Delta, Ebonyi, Edo, Ekiti, Enugu, Imo, Kogi, Ondo, Rivers, Taraba States and armed forces.
He added that flynas, on the other hand, was allocated 12,506 pilgrims from Federal Capital Territory (FCT Abuja), Kebbi, Lagos, Ogun, Osun, Sokoto and Zamfara states.
He stressed that max air is to handle the airlift of pilgrims from Bauchi, Gombe, Jigawa, Kano, Katsina, Kwara, Oyo and Plateau States.
