The Abdulrahman Abdullahi Kayode (Greatkay) You Should Know By Baba Idris
Today is a day to celebrate a young man that produced too many versions of himself and it is a must that we all come out to acknowledge and celebrate him. Greatkay, as he is fondly called is a man whose heart is so pure that he is just always willing to support friends and brothers till the very end.
I remember how I walked up to him in our Kwara Poly school days and how we became friends. Apart from his enviable brilliancy, a Distinction Student (First Class Equivalent) at that, Greatkay was the most powerful young man in school then, even at Students' Union Government (SUG) and used his political influences to make kings. As at that time, if you were vying for anything in school, all you needed to do was to belong to his camp, you were already a winner and he would advise you, like he advised us all to quit students' politics after school.
Also, more than a decade ago, this creative young dude called Great-Kay hosted the first political blog in Kwara State and started political media advocacy in the state at his tender age (early twenties). This was a time when nobody knew social media would be this important that it would even be a source of income for people. What a visionary young man he was!
The humble Pakata Ilorin born didn't stop at that, he also sourced for young guys across the 16 LGAs in Kwara state including yours sincerely, Engr Baba Idris, and brought them together under the aegis of Kwara Legacy Frontiers (Kwara LeFro) with the aim of adding value to his state and preparing his generation for the future.
Of course there was an attenuation due to political misconceptions along the line towards the realization of that aim but we all give thanks to God where we all are as even the members in other political camps are also doing fine. This patriot would never stop but keep re-echoing to our ears, the path to human capacity development, self-reliance and education as fallbacks after politics.
Apart from the fact that he would never be sad at your own upliftment even if he was the one that showed you the way to certain successes, Greatkay is so discrete that only God knows why he keeps some of his career, educational, business and other personal milestones out of the public.
Greatkay is loyal and consistent to a fault on anything in which he believes in and would never compromise no matter what.
As he added another year today, I wish him long life, sound health, everlasting happiness and all the best in his future endeavors.
