Oloriegbe Mourns Shaykh Aboto's Death, Condoles Family, Ansarul-Islam Society
The Senator representing Kwara Central, Dr Ibrahim Yahaya Oloriegbe has expressed sadness over the tragic incident that claimed the lives of highly revered Islamic preacher, Shaykh Abdulganiy Dhu-Nurayn Aboto and two other persons reportedly identified as Alfa Nurudeen and Alfa Azeez Omoekun who were together with him inside the vehicle that crashed into a river as a result of flooding.
Sen. Olorigebe, in a condolence message, described the death as a monumental loss that left everyone distraught, commiserating with the Muslim community, the families of the victims of the sad occurrence and the entire Adabiyyah family worldwide.
The lawmaker said the late cleric would be sorely missed and remembered for his bold and courageous sermons that drew attention to societal ills and promoted the tenets of Islam.
"It is with a deep sense of great loss but total submission to the will of Allah that I mourn the deaths of the highly revered Islamic Cleric, Shaykh Abdulganiy Aboto, and the two other persons who were involved in a ghastly accident occasioned by a torrential downpour with him. He was indeed a respected preacher and stickler for virtuous conduct that squares with the tenets of Islam.
"He would be sorely missed and be remembered for his fairness, boldness and thought-provoking sermons through which he engendered positive changes and edified the minds of his listeners."
While commiserating with the entire Ansarul Islam Society of Nigeria, the families of the cleric and the others, and the Muslim community, Oloriegbe urged them to take solace in the fact that the late Shaykh lived a fulfilled life and contributed immensely to the propagation of Islam, praying that God forgives the shortcomings of the departed souls and accept their returns.
The lawmaker similarly urged the residents of Kwara State particularly people of his constituency to be cautious of indiscriminate dumping of refuse in drainages and waterways to prevent avoidable flooding.
