2020 budget passes seconnd reading at Kwara Assembly

The Kwara 2020 Appropriation Bill of N162 billion on Thursday passed second reading at the state House of Assembly.

The News Agency of Nigeria, (NAN) reports that the bill tagged: "Budget of Reconstruction and Reformation" was presented by Gov. AbdulRahman AbdulRasaq on Dec. 18, 2019.

The motion for the second reading was moved by the House Leader, Mr Olawoyin Abubakar-Magaji and enjoyed the support of other members at plenary.

Members who contributed during the debate on the bill noted that it catered for all sectors of the economy and it was capable of bringing more development to the state.

The Speaker, Mr Salihu-Yakubu Danladi implored the lawmakers to ensure that their respective constituencies benefited from the bill when finally passed by the House and signed into law by the governor.

He urged them to be critical in budget defence by government Ministries, Departments and Agencies to achieve the desired results.

Danladi forwarded the bill to the House Committee on Finance and Appropriation for further legislative action after the Clerk, Hajia Halimah Perogi read it for the second time.
