Suspended council chairmen to know fate as KWHA committee submits report
The Kwara State House of Assembly investigating the accounts of the suspended Local Government chairmen, yesterday, submitted the report of its investigation.
The 2018 Audit Reports of the Accounts of the 16 Local Governments and the State Local Government Service Commission was presented by the House Leader, Hon Abubakar Olawoyin Mogaji.
Hon AbdulGafar Ayinla Ayilara and Hon AbdulGaniyu Salaudeen, chairmen of joint House Committees on Local Government and Chieftaincy and Ethics Privileges and Judiciary handled the investigation.
The committees, last week, concluded its on the spot assessment to the respective local government councils to verify claims made by the embattled chairmen about projects executed.
On Tuesday, some of the affected council chairmen were sighted at the House allegedly in anticipation of the submission of the report on Wednesday.
12 out of the 16 affected council bosses have agreed to discontinue with the court case instituted to challenge their dismissal in court. The PDP through its state Chairman, Engr Kola Shittu had told this medium recently during a telephone chat that the party is monitoring the situation and would apply its internal mechanism to resolve the issue.
