Kwara Wins Second Place At African Drum Festival

Kwara State Council for Arts and Culture, Ilorin has for the second time emerged a winner in the just concluded African Drum Festival tagged Drum Festival '19 which held in Abeokuta, Ogun State.

The Kwara State Troupe was the defending champion having come first in the 2018 edition.

According to the Kwara State Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Dr Amina Ahmed, the state troupe came second behind Gombe state and ahead of Ondo state which came third. The cash prize for the second position was N1m, said the commissioner.

The festival, themed "Drumming the Future" came to an end at The Amphitheatre, City Centre, Abeokuta, Ogun state over the weekend.
