Kwara Speaker tasked civil servants on dedication, service improvement

Speaker, Kwara State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Dr. Ali Ahmad has tasked the state civil servants to always be dedicated and demonstrate high level patriotism for the benefit of the service and overall improvement of Kwara.

The Speaker made the charge while presenting a cheque to the first runner-up during the recently concluded State Civil Service Week in fulfilment of the Speaker's pledge to fuel the motorcycle for the period of 3-months at the weekend.

Describing civil servants as pivotal to the success of any administration, Ahmad stressed that successive governments to should recognise their contributions and at all times provide the conducive atmosphere for them to thrive.

This, the lawmaker stressed, would undoubtedly enable government to formulate policies and various programmes that would have positive impact on the citizens.

He commended the Head of Service, Mrs Modupe Susan Oluwole's initiative for introducing and establishing the new culture in the state civil service, adding that it would go a long way to show that government recognises and have reward for excellence.

While stressing that the initiative would further encourage activeness, healthy competition and volunteerism among the civil servants, Ahmad added that the recognition would have lasting effect on those honoured.

Earlier, Mrs Oluwole had appreciated the Speaker, Dr. Ali Ahmad and the 8th Assembly for the support and cash donation, noting that it would further spur them to render selfless services for the state advancement.

The Head of Service noted that the award has changed the civil servants' attitude, thinking and perspective towards driving new policies for government and betterment of the state.
