We are reviving fashion industry in Kwara, says SL Venture

Date: 2017-04-20

An Ilorin-based fashion outfit, SL Venture has unveiled its plans to revive fashion industry in Kwara State.

The Chief Executive Officer of the company, Abdulfatai Sampsondeen, who addressed Journalists in Ilorin on Wednesday, said his outfit had keyed into the campaign for Made in Nigeria Products to ensure high patronage for locally made materials.

He explained that it was high time Nigerians embrace materials produced domestically to change the erroneous impression that such products are of inferior quality.

Sampsondeen, a 300 Level Accounting Student of Al-Hikmah University, Ilorin, said his outfit has changed the face of fashion industry and by implication, laundering the image of the state.

He stated that the ongoing revolution in the fashion sector being championed by his company also attests to the fact that the State is socially inclined.

The 21 year old entrepreneur said there was urgent need to address the problem facing fashion industry in the State by all stakeholders and added that his company has also created online platform for music download.

He disclosed that the fashion outfit is also organizing fashion showcase comprising music and food festival.

Sampsondeen called on relevant government agencies and non-governmental organizations to partner with his company in the quest to reinvigorate fashion industry in the state with a view to meeting the contemporary needs.

"Our organization has seen the urgent need to address the teething problem in the fashion industry, especially in Kwara State and inform the public on the trending issues in the industry. As you are all aware that the world is not static, so also it becomes expedient for us to key in with a view to moving along.

"SL Venture is a combination of a clothing, music promotion and artiste management company formerly known as Deen(Deen Clothing). We produce urban wears/clothing for both male and female. We also have an online platform where we sell our products. It is also an avenue where variety of musics can be downloaded.

"SL has become a veritable platform upon which the music and fashion industry is revived and given a face lift in Kwara State. In a drive to revive the fashion industry, SL Venture put together a fashion show to showcase a new collection. It is also a platform for other clothiers to showcase their collections/designs too.

"There is an official Website for the music promotion aspect where songs can be downloaded. Although the Website comprises of an online store where our products can be ordered and musics can be downloaded.

"We have two events lined up, the first one is"Lets Talk Music". It is going to be an interactive session where OAPs, Musicians, Music Producers and Potential Investors will be invited to discuss about the challenges bedeviling the music industry here in Kwara, and proffer necessary solutions.

"The second event is "Food and Fashion Festival". The rationale behind this segment is to bring together major restaurant operators to interface and socialise among themselves. This initiative will also afford the operators/owners the opportunity to have individual stands to display their wares for the consumption of the general public.

"Ultimately, the assemblage of these people of diverse interest will provide a unique platform for them not only to socialize but improve their sales and economic growth in general.

"With this initiative, our organization is creating a paradigm shift in the fashion industry and launching Kwara State into the World map as one of the States that has embraced latest as far as fashion industry is concerned. The onerous is on us too to correct the subsisting erroneous impression that our State is not socially inclined. What we are doing as an organization will make the world to believe us that it is indeed a new dawn in the fashion industry in Kwara State.

"We want to use this platform to appeal to the state government agencies and non governmental organizations to partner with us in this project of laundering the image of Kwara as a State that gives fashion and music industry due attention it deserves", Sampsondeen said.
