Kwara Set to Generate N50b Revenue by 2032
Kwara State government has targeted N50 billion by the year 2032 through the newly established Kwara State Holdings Limited, with 20 companies.
This, it noted, would be realised through a minimum annual revenue generation, making the state one of the top three governments to own holding companies in Nigeria in the next 10 years.
Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed stated this at the swearing-in of two new special advisers, a commissioner in the state Civil Service Commission and the inauguration of the Board of Harmony Holdings Limited, pledging that as a "responsible administration, we have made the economic empowerment of our people and the prosperity of our state the number one priority."
He said that his administration is not distracted by the negative comments of the opposition in his resolve to positively transform the lives of the people, even as he assured the people that the administration is resolute and the will to succeed is unrelenting.
According to the governor, "Within a year, the administration's shared prosperity has yielded massive youth jobs, immense physical and social infrastructure, bold agricultural reforms and wealth creation."
Governor Ahmed therefore urged the newly sworn-in commissioners and board members to internalise and imbibe the tenets of the programme and make valuable contributions to its effective implementation.
"The holdings company will further diversify its operations into other sectors such as finance and investment, Mortgage, Agriculture and Construction", he said.
