State Chairmen of Nigeria Football Supporters Club demands end to Dr. Ladipo's reign
They instead want him to vacate office and allow another person to lead them again.
The Chairmen while briefing newsmen after its meeting in Ilorin on Sunday, said for someone to stay in a position for more than 30 years is no longer acceptable to them so the need for change in its leadership.
They threw their weight behind Vincent Okumagba, the national President of the body.
The Chairman of the forum, Dr. Johnson Dagana, who is also the chairman of Bayelsa State chapter, said the forum want an election to hold to usher in new executives.
''Okumagba is our national chairman, we are fully backing him.
''We want him to be given absolute power but not the acting role it is now.
''We want him to take over as national chairman with full power, all the state chairmen are behind him.
''We have been clamouring for election because we believe that the only thing that is permanent is change.
''If a man stays in a position for sometimes, it should be with tenure.
''As chapter chairmen and secretaries, we have our own tenure, four years is our tenure'',Dagana said.
Dagana said part of the deliberations in the meeting was how to help Nigeria football develop through supporting especially that the Olympics is around the corner.
Also speaking at the briefing is Sir Okeke, the Treasurer of the forum and Enugu chairman, who said the body is against the the Nigeria Football and Other Sports Supporters Club set up by Dr. Ladipo.
He said Dr. Ladipo created the body to cause confusion in Nigeria because he does not want to leave his current position.
Okeke clarified that Dr. Ladipo is the President General for Nigeria Football and Other Sports Supporters Club and that Okumagba is there own national chairman.
He said the forum move its meeting from state to states and that it is the turn for Kwara to host and that it is the Kwara executives that is hosting the meeting.
