Kwara to begin screening of intending pilgrims on Monday

The Kwara State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board has said it will commence screening of intending pilgrims for the 2016 Hajj on Monday, 14 March, 2016. The screening exercise will take place at the Board office in Ilorin. This was contained in a statement issued on Sunday by the Executive Secretary of the Board, Alhaja Fatimoh Abolore.

According to the statement, intending pilgrims who have completed the online registration will be notified of the time of the screening through a text message.

The statement added that the screening exercise was necessary for all intending pilgrims who wish to perform the pilgrimage through the board. It also noted that the Board had introduced measures to ensure transparency and guard against any form of fraud in this year's hajj exercise.

Intending pilgrims are also advised to arrive on time at the screening venue and come along with relevant documents.

It ill be recalled that online registration of all intending pilgrims in the state began on Thursday, 25th February.
