How police smashed human parts dealers' den in Kwara.
The den located in an uncompleted building along Airport/ Eyenkorin road, a suburb of the capital city was said to have become a permanent base for the human parts marketers, who after snatching their victims lured them, using different gimmicks.
This medium had reported few weeks ago about the lifeless body of a middle-aged woman that was dumped by the roadside not far from the uncompleted building by suspected ritualists, though police claimed the victim was crushed by hit and run car.
Some body parts of the victim was observed to be missing.
However, it was gathered that police had mounted security surveillance on the building following a tip-off by people in the area and some members of the public that the abandoned building used to be beehive of activities in the night unlike the usual lull during the day time.
A top security source who confided in our reporter because he was not authorized to speak, said police operatives swiftly acted on the informations received on the suspicion that ritual killers were using the property, which is a few metres away from the main road, to perpetrate atrocities.
The abandoned structure was said to belong to an eighty five year old woman who is currently being interrogated.
During our correspondent’s visit to the criminal dungeon on Monday, the place was still littered with at least three decomposed headless human bodies, human feet, National Youth Service Corps( NYSC) caps, women under wears and shoes, snail shells and clothes suspected to be used in strangulating ritual victims.
Briefing newsmen at the State Police Headquarters in Ilorin, the Commissioner of Police, Mr. Ambrose Aisabor, disclosed that preliminary investigations conducted by his men revealed that people believed to be ritual killers had turned the uncompleted building to the market where they engage in buying and selling of human parts.
He said the discovery of dungeon was possible due to high level intelligent information from some members of the public.
Aisabor said, “The command’s special -undercover agents on 28 /06/2014 at about 0700hrs while acting on a highly potent intelligence discovered some suspected building to be hide-out for criminals dealing in human parts.
“When we visited the place,we discovered a bizzare scenario, among the items recovered is decomposed headless body,human feet ,snail shell,clothes suspected to be used in strangulating their victims. The case is under investigation.
“I think that place is used as market where people who are involved in ritual activities buy human parts, investigation is still going”,the CP said
Aisabor however said no arrest has been made in connection with the frightening discovery.
“The owner of the building has been known, she is an 85 year old woman. We are interrogating her, may be as investigation progresses, we are going to make some arrests”, the police boss said.
In another development, the police also paraded one robbery suspect, Ganiyu Lawal with a Toyota Camry with registration number Lagos App 645 AN.
Aisabor said investigation showed that the vehicle was stolen from where it was packed in Lagos while other members of the robbery syndicate took to their heels.
The commissioner told journalists that the command has also apprehended two persons, Joshua Ayantola and Adebayo Adeyinka over criminal conspiracy and armed robbery.
The suspects who are students of the state college of education ,Ilorin were arrested after attacking one Musa Azeez and robbed him of his belongings within the school campus.
Aisabor urged the people of the state to continue to provide the police with useful information that will assist in riding the state of criminals, promising that the suspects will be charged to court as soon as investigation is completed.
“Information is coming to us, we are making good use of them, we want to assure them that we are going to protect them. We count on the good people of the state”, Aisabor said.
