Herbalist Remanded Over Possession Of Human Parts
Police prosecutor, Insp. Moshood Adebayo informed the court that the accused had cut off the head, right and left hands of one John Olabode for money-making ritual.
He said, the accused left the body inside a bush in Omu-Aran in Irepodun Local Government Area of Kwara.
The prosecution told the court that the father of the deceased, Mr. Olayiwola Olabode, reported to the police that his son, a commercial motorcyclist, left home on March 25, and did not return.
Adebayo said that a beheaded corpse, identified to be the deceased's was later found inside the bush.
He added that the recovered parts had been subjected to medical examination and preservation at the University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital.
The prosecutor told the court that the accused conspired with two others, Bayo and Ewedogbon, who are now at large, to commit the offence.
He objected to the bail of the accused on the ground that the alleged offence was not ordinarily bailable, adding that investigation was still in progress.
The trial court did not take the plea of the accused.
Chief Magistrate Moses Adegbite ordered the accused to be remanded at Federal Prison Yard, Okekura, Ilorin.
He adjourned the case to May 8, for further mention.
