The Managing Director of Dellys Global Resources,  a private company, Mr Abdul Rasaq Adeleye, on Monday, assured that the construction of Ago Modern Market in Ilorin-West Local Council of Kwara would be ready for inauguration in May.  

Adeleye, the contractor, who was re-awarded the project, gave the assurance during the official signing of agreement between the company and the Ilorin West Local Government in Ilorin.

He said that work had reached advanced stage on the market, pointing out that all necessary mechanism had been put in place to transform the market into a modern market.

Also speaking at the signing, the Chairperson of the Council, Hajia  Tawakalitu AbdulKadir, said the construction of Ago modern market was the determination of the council to improve the socio-economic situation in the state.

Abdulkadir said that the project was first awarded to "Brass Properties Nigeria Limited" and was revoked when the company breached the contractual agreement, before it was re-awarded to ‘Dellys Global Resources.

"The need for the completion of the laudable project calls for the re-award of the project to Dellys Global Resources. By implication, the council is appealing to the contractor to please work within the term of contract.

"Failure to fulfill the obligation as enshrined in the agreement will amount to abandonment and revocation will not be compromised."
