The people of Gambari II in Ilorin East Local Government Area of Kwara State have appealed to the government to, as a matter of urgency, address the menace of erosion that is causing serious havoc along Ile Eleran, Ile Nla, Ita Adu area and another one behind Karuma Primary School, all within Ilorin East Local Government.

The appeal was contained in a statement jointly signed by the Chairman and Secretary of Mustapha Akanbi Youth Forum, Alhaji Atolagbe Balogun and Hamed Imam. They urged government to swiftly address the problem of erosion which they said was gradually sweeping the affected area.

The group also appealed to the state government to provide the area with a new transformer so as to protect them from the agony of consistent power failure.

The statement added that the need for a new transformer in the above mentioned area becomes necessary following the overloading of the existing one located at Akalanbi Junction, Sobi Road.

The forum called on the State Commissioner for Energy, Alhaji Sulu Oloje and other relevant stakeholders to come to their aid, adding that the persistent power failure has made the area inhabitable for living, especially during this harsh weather.
