Ekiti LG Chair tasks LG chairmen on grassroot development
Akintoba made this known in the first series of Joint Ward Meeting in Ekiti local government between Obo Aiyegunle ward 1 and 2. The joint ward meeting, conveying inner grassroot representatives was organized to hasten development in the local government through well patterned participation.
During the meeting which witnessed large turn out, the chairman call for such meetings at close intervals in all local government areas in Kwara state. "We are witnessing a new development in the history of participatory democracy directed to hasten development in our local government, where the local government chairman will sit with the people in a head to head discussion for many hours; nothing works faster than a synergy of this kind with the people" he said.
Further speaking, Akintoba made it known that local government chairmen in the state should ensure that this type of approach to development is used by local government officers who are the closest to the people.
