With about a week to the commencement of this year's West African University Games, the basketball event last week got a boost of over N2m worth of trophies and playing kits for the basketball teams, courtesy of 3Jays International Limited which also installed the basketball court at the school's gymnasium.

Managing Director of the 3Js International, Col. Sam Ahmedu (rtd), while presenting the 38 trophies, said he was inspired to assist the university in the game of basketball because it was his area of choice and passion being a former international for Nigeria and also having played in three editions of WAUG as a student.

He said, "As an ardent sportsman, my company was motivated by the need to support a Nigerian university hosting the rest of West Africa on behalf of Nigeria."

An elated Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academics) of the university, Prof. Kolade Ayorinde, who represented the Vice Chancellor Prof. Ishaaq Olanrewaju Oloyede, said the institution was glad to be associated with 3Jays international.
