Arrangement has been concluded by the authorities of the Ilorin West Local Government Area of Kwara State to construct a befitting National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) quarters in the council area.

Speaking while presenting the 2012 budget before the legislative arm of the council, the chairperson of the council, Hajia Tawakalitu Abdulkadir, said that the NYSC quarters was one of the very many projects lined up for execution in this year's budget of the council.

She said that the idea of constructing habitable quarters was part of measures put in place by the council to provide enabling environment for corps members deployed to the area, as well as the NYSC officials.

She also said that the construction of the quarters would be executed along side major renovations and furnishing of local government area offices, as well as purchase of furniture and equipment, adding that about N20 million had been earmarked for the projects altogether.

The chairperson said that the council had also earmarked money for the compensation on acquired land meant for the proposed local government mass housing unit as a response to the state government's directive that all local governments should designate at least, 50 hectares of land for housing estate.
