A 35-year-old bricklayer, Abubakar Mustapha of Mejindadi Area, Ilorin, who allegedly defrauded a man under the pretext of selling a land to him has been remanded at Federal Medium Security Prison, Mandala area, Ilorin.

The order to remand the accused was made by an Ilorin Magistrate Court before which he appeared on a two-count charge of advance fee fraud and criminal intimidation.

The accused was also said to have threatened to kill his victim if he ever requested for the refund of his money.

Trouble began for the accused when on April 9, 2013, the victim, Abdulkareem Adeoye of Alasela Street, Ilorin, lodged a complaint at ‘B’ Division Police Station, Surulere, Ilorin, that the accused defrauded him.
