Kwara ACN in Disarray as Dissolution of Caretaker Committee is Declared Null and Void

The National Working Committee of the Action Congress of Nigeria has described as null and void the purported dissolution of the Kwara State Caretaker Committee of the party and the appointment of one Toyin Ayinla as Acting Chairman.
In a statement issued in Abuja on Monday by its Deputy National Publicity Secretary, Hajia Hauwa Shuaibu Galma, the party said only the National Executive Committee of the party can dissolve the duly-constituted caretaker committee in Kwara State.
The statement said: “The so-called Kwara Stakeholders Forum which announced the dissolution of the Kwara State Caretaker Committee is not one of the constitutionally-recognized organs of the party and lack powers to dissolve the structure of the party at any level.
“The only recognized organ of the party for the time being in Kwara State remains the Kayode Olawepo led State Caretaker Committee, and it is the body which relevant security and electoral bodies should deal with until there is further directive to the contrary from the National Executive Committee of the party.”
The ACN said the statement issued on behalf of the Kwara Stakeholders, dissolving the properly-constituted State Caretaker committee, is an irresponsible act and an affront against the NEC of the party.
The party therefore warned all members of the party in Kwara State, who have been issuing unauthorized statements, to desist forthwith from such acts or risk facing disciplinary action.
