Kwara State Governor, Alhaji Abdulfatah Ahmed has urged Christians in the country to be their brother's keepers.
He also called on them to imbibe the lessons of perseverance, selflessness and forgiveness inherent in the 40 day Lenten, the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ that the Easter season connotes.

Governor Ahmed in his Easter Message issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Alhaji Abdulwahab Oba yesterday, noted that if Christians and indeed all Nigerians could imbibe the sterling qualities of love for fellow human being, selflessness and commitment to the spirit of nation-building, Nigeria would be a better place for all.

According to him, “Christians should use this period to rededicate themselves to the service of God and sacrifice in consonance with the teachings of Jesus Christ”.

He charged Nigerians to also use the Easter season to pray fervently for peace and love to reign supreme in Nigeria so that the inherent socio-economic potentials of the country could be adequately annexed.
Governor Ahmed emphasised that the Easter period also provides a good opportunity for Nigerians to work towards resolving the present peace and security challenges confronting the country.

Also, the former governor of the state and senator, representing Kwara central senatorial district at the Senate, Sen. Bukola Saraki and Speaker, State House of Assembly, Hon. Abdulrasaq Atunwa called on the people to continue to live in peace so as to move the nation forward.
Saraki and Atunwa in  separate statements issued yesterday to mark the Easter celebrations in Ilorin, advised Christians to use the period to pray for the peace and development of the nation.
