The Kwara State Chapter of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN) has congratulated Nigerian international and Coventry City striker Taiwo Awoniyi on his successful completion and graduation from the Professional Footballers' Association (PFA) Business School's Director of Football programme.

In a statement, Kwara SWAN described the achievement as another major milestone in the career of the Kwara-born footballer. The association noted that Awoniyi's decision to pursue further education beyond the pitch reflects his strong commitment to personal development and the growth of football.

The body also highlighted Awoniyi's ongoing contributions to grassroots football in the state. He currently serves as Chairman of the Kwara Kiddies League and is the Founder and Director of Unicorns Academy. Through these roles, SWAN said, he has demonstrated consistent leadership and capacity in youth football development.

According to the association, the Director of Football qualification will enhance Awoniyi's knowledge in key areas including player development, recruitment, football operations, leadership and strategy. These skills, it added, will complement the practical experience he has already gained as a professional player and grassroots administrator.

Kwara SWAN wished Awoniyi continued success at Coventry City and commended him for balancing his playing career with education, leadership and investment in the next generation of football talents.

"We celebrate Taiwo Awoniyi for continually expanding his capacity and contribution to football, both on and beyond the pitch," the association stated.
