Kwara Coding Programme Advances Hands-On Digital Learning in Week Three
The 2026 Summer Edition of the Kwara Coding and Digital Literacy Programme continued in its third week, with learners across participating centres receiving practical training in programming, web development and data analysis.
Participants underwent intensive Python programming sessions covering conditional statements, loops, lists, tuples, sets, dictionaries and functions. The lessons were designed to strengthen their logical reasoning, problem-solving abilities and capacity to develop structured and efficient programs.
Learners also advanced their knowledge of JavaScript through lessons on variables, data types, logical operations and conditional statements.
In web development, participants worked on personal portfolios and HTML forms while gaining practical experience with CSS positioning, Flexbox, media queries and JavaScript interactivity. The programme also strengthened participants' data-analysis skills through Microsoft Excel lessons covering data validation and PivotTable analysis.
Some learners were introduced to Python tools and libraries, including SQLite3, Tkinter and Bcrypt, to broaden their understanding of practical software development.
The third week also featured stakeholder engagement, with Mrs Ibiyeye of W.Tech providing supervision and assessment. A visit to the training centre also provided an opportunity to encourage participants and offer guidance.
The Office of the Senior Special Assistant on Digital Innovations said the programme, under the leadership of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, continues to equip young people across Kwara State with relevant, practical and future-ready digital skills.
The office also expressed appreciation to the Governor for his continued support and commitment to expanding digital education and opportunities for young people across the state.
