The All Progressives Congress (APC) House of Representatives candidate for Ifelodun/Oyun/Offa Federal Constituency, Dr Rafiu Ajakaye, has said his seven years in public service have equipped him with the experience required to provide effective representation and quality legislative oversight.

Speaking with journalists after the APC's appreciation tour of Kwara South Senatorial District, Ajakaye said his decision to contest for the House of Representatives was driven by a desire to contribute more to the development of his constituency.

The former Chief Press Secretary to Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq said his years in government exposed him to the realities of governance and strengthened his commitment to public service.

"I have served as a public officer for the last seven years, and throughout that period I have gained valuable experience and the motivation to do more for our people. I believe I still have much to offer, particularly in promoting good governance through effective legislative oversight and supporting initiatives that address critical issues such as security and development," he said.

Ajakaye clarified that the recent visits across communities in Kwara South were appreciation visits rather than campaign activities, explaining that the delegation visited traditional rulers and APC stakeholders to thank them for their support during the party's primaries.

According to him, the three-day tour was organised to express gratitude to party members and community leaders ahead of the commencement of official election campaigns.
