AbdulRazaq Commends Kwara Workers, Highlights Welfare Gains on International Workers Day
The Kwara State Governor, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, has commended workers across all sectors in the state for their immense contributions to the socio-economic development of Kwara as the world marks International Workers' Day 2026.
In a message to mark the day, Governor AbdulRazaq reaffirmed his administration's commitment to the welfare of workers, citing timely payment of salaries, provision of a conducive working environment, and the swift implementation of welfare-oriented national policies.
He said, "Our administration values the critical roles workers play in the socio-economic development of our state. This is reflected in our timely payment of salaries, provision of conducive working environment, and swift implementation of any welfare-oriented national policy for the workforce."
The Governor highlighted key interventions, including the approval of the 30% peculiar allowance for core civil servants, upward review of the Teachers' Specific Allowance (TSA) for teachers, and different allowances for other professionals.
He noted that in the last six years, the administration has cleared backlogs of salaries, allowances, and pensions, while steadily addressing inherited gratuities.
Governor AbdulRazaq also extended special commendation to security personnel working round the clock to protect lives and property in the state.
He reaffirmed his administration's commitment to building a Kwara where workers thrive, decent jobs are created, careers are nurtured, and every sector contributes meaningfully to the state's prosperity. "Happy Workers' Day," the Governor concluded.
