Kwara United Mourns El-Kanemi Warriors Chairman Ibrahim Maina Mustapha

Date: 2026-02-26

The management of Kwara United FC has expressed deep condolences to El-Kanemi Warriors FC over the death of their Chairman, Alhaji Ibrahim Maina Mustapha.

In a statement issued by the Chairman of Kwara United, Kumbi Titiloye, the club described the news as shocking and painful, noting that the Maiduguri-born football administrator passed away at a time when his vast experience was still greatly needed in Nigeria's football fraternity.

Titiloye described the late Mustapha as a committed sports administrator whose contributions to Nigerian football would not be forgotten.

"From all of us at Kwara United, we received the death of the Chairman of El-Kanemi Warriors, Alhaji Maina Ibrahim Mustapha, with a rude shock. He died when his vast experience was still needed. We pray that Allah grants him Al-Jannah Firdaus," Titiloye stated.

Kwara United prayed for Allah to forgive his shortcomings and grant him eternal rest, while also asking God to give the El-Kanemi Warriors family and the wider football community the strength to bear the irreparable loss.
