Infrastructure Boost: Kwara Govt Renovates Baboko And Lasoju Schools To Enhance Learning
The Kwara State Government has reiterated its commitment to transforming the education sector through sustained investment in infrastructure and student welfare.
The Commissioner for Education and Human Capital Development, Dr. Lawal Olohungbebe, shared these updates on Monday, January 26, 2026, highlighting a "balanced development" strategy that spans all three senatorial districts.
In Kwara Central, the government has completed extensive renovations at Baboko Community Secondary School (Ilorin West), delivering five renovated classrooms, six new classrooms with offices, and improved toilet facilities. Similarly, at Comprehensive High School, Lasoju (Asa), the administration constructed a new block of three classrooms and renovated existing structures.
The development drive extends to Kwara North, where a new two-room laboratory at Senior Secondary School, Venra (Kaiama) is set for handover. Extensive work is also nearing completion at Senior Secondary School, Kenu in Baruten Local Government Area.
In Kwara South, school infrastructure is receiving a major facelift with the renovation of three classrooms at Nawarudeen Grammar School, Offa, and ongoing construction of an examination hall at Idofian Grammar School in Ifelodun.
"Our goal is to ensure that no child learns in a dilapidated environment, regardless of their location in the state," Dr. Olohungbebe stated. He emphasized that these projects are part of a broader mandate by Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq to bridge the gap between rural and urban educational facilities.
